Three of my fingertips got cut off in a work accident. I was transferred to Hurley from Midland, got there around 4 p.m. Surgery kept getting postponed and didn't begin until 8 p.m. the next night. Wasn't able to eat or drink starting at midnight that first night, so I had to go without food or water for 24 hours while not getting enough pain meds to sleep and nurse visits within a half hour of falling asleep each time. They seem to give you as little information as possible. I didn't even see my doctor at all until my next appointment 10 days later. From there, I was told I would be given a call to set up an appointment the following week. Never got a call, so I called them only to be told I'd get a call back shortly. Waited two hours, no call. Called again about 45 minutes before close just to give all the information and be told they'll call me back. Finally got a call an hour later saying that I don't need to make an appointment and to just come in. It seems as though no one in the building can do anything well.
My son had a really bad case of croup. The children's emergency area was awesome. They brought him in immediately, gave prompt medical attention and didn't ignore us. Can't speak for the adult ER but the children's wing is great.
I'm so glad they have this reviews so i can say this, my daughter was having a ashma attack ,and thank GOD for this hospital. Thank you hurley children hospital! Today thank you for admitting my son right away, and for the first time we meet a technician with my son's name. Adriel! All staff are very nice and taking good care of my son.
Easy in and out valet parking if wanted, employees are friendly helpful, went there for burns they were helpful knowledgeable told me everything that was going to happen what they were doing it for couldn't ask for a better place in my opinion, safe surroundings
My son was admitted to the pediatric unit after surgery. The unit was absolutely disgusting and filthy.floors look like they have not been mopped in years. For this being a pediatric unit you would think they would be concerned with infection control. This was solely an error on house keeping end. The staff and the nurses we absolutely top notch. Very kind and caring and knowledgeable group of individuals. If ibhad to rate the medical team alone it would be a solid 10 out of 5.
